STRIMY vs Pixieset: Pixieset for your photos, STRIMY for your video

They are not competing for the same job. Pixieset is an excellent photo delivery platform that also takes some video, metered by the hour. STRIMY does video only, and measures it in space.

Four differences you notice on one wedding

Not in the abstract — with a real delivery on the table.

One wedding eats the whole video allowance

Pixieset's Basic plan includes 30 minutes of video and Plus one hour. A 60-minute wedding film plus the full ceremony exhausts the Plus plan with a single delivery. Each extra hour costs $5 a month, which is $60 a year per hour.

The video allowance does not grow with the plan

This is the striking part of their pricing: their 10 TB Studio plan, at $96 a month, still includes 2 hours of video. Photo storage multiplies fivefold between plans; video stays where it was.

4K sits at a different price tier

Pixieset's standard plans talk about HD video storage. For 4K you have to move up to the Suite plans, from $48 a month. On STRIMY, adaptive streaming up to 4K is on every plan, including the entry one.

What your client actually downloads

Their help centre states that video downloads go up to 2048px on the longest edge, and that 4K downloads are only on Pro and Ultimate. If you deliver the master for the couple to keep, that difference is the job.

When to use each

The honest answer is almost always: both.

You only shoot photos

Stay on Pixieset. Galleries, a commission-free store, apps and a RAW editor: STRIMY has none of that and does not aim to.

You only shoot video

STRIMY. No hours cap, 4K on every plan, original-quality download, and knowing who opened the gallery and how much they watched.

You do both, or you work with a photographer

Both, each for what it is good at. That is what plenty of teams do: photos delivered on Pixieset, the film on STRIMY, without paying for extra video hours or giving up 4K.

The gallery

Six templates built to let the video lead

Pick a template, upload your logo and set colours and typography. No ads and no watermark over the image. A discreet "Powered by STRIMY" line sits in the footer, and it goes away on the Pro plan.

  • Six templates: cinema, grid, sidebar, minimal, carousel and overlay
  • Password per gallery, with no account for the client
  • Original-quality download if you switch it on

Video measured in space, not in minutes

STRIMY's entry plan is 512 GB. That holds dozens of hours of high-quality film, and if you deliver more weddings one year than the last there are no minutes to count or single hours to buy: the only limit is the storage you contract.

  • No per-video duration limit and no total minutes cap
  • Files up to 12 GB per video
  • No playback limits and no bandwidth charges

Analytics

Know who watched the film, by name

You grant access person by person, by email — the couple, the parents, whoever you decide — and the stats tell you who opened the gallery, how many times and how much of each piece they watched. It is the data no direct competitor offers today.

  • Adding, expiry and revocation per person
  • Watch time and completion rate per viewer
  • Included on every plan, no add-ons

Frequently asked questions

What Pixieset users ask us

Do I have to leave Pixieset to use STRIMY?

No, and in most cases there is no reason to. If you deliver photos, Pixieset does it very well and STRIMY does not compete there: it has no photo galleries. The usual setup is to run both, each for its own job.

How much video fits on Pixieset?

According to their own site in July 2026: 30 minutes on Basic and one hour on Plus. Suite plans include 2 hours, including the 10 TB one. Each additional hour is sold as an add-on at $5 a month.

Can I deliver in 4K?

On STRIMY yes, on every plan: it is transcoded to multi-resolution HLS and the player serves the best quality the viewer's connection allows. On Pixieset, 4K is on the Suite plans from $48 a month, and 4K downloads only on Pro and Ultimate.

What does Pixieset do better than STRIMY?

Several things, and they are worth saying. Photos, obviously. An integrated store with commission-free sales. Gallery apps for the client. A RAW editor. And two that sting: custom domain and removal of their branding from the $8-a-month plan, whereas on STRIMY dropping the "Powered by" is a Pro-plan matter and a custom domain does not exist yet.

What if my videos are already on Pixieset?

Download them from your collection and upload them to STRIMY: nothing else needs migrating, because the photos stay where they are. The 7-day trial is enough to build a real gallery with a real delivery and compare with no commitment.
